This 4-piece set of tortoise food provides the perfect nutrition for all species of tortoises. Tortoises do have preferences for fruits, flowers, herbs, or vegetables. With this set, you can test which food your tortoise prefers and later make that its main diet. The other food types should still be considered as variety and supplements, since a tortoise’s diet should be quite varied to keep it healthy.

During JBL expeditions, we often visit turtle habitats, whether in deserts or, even more frequently, in tropical wetlands. Observations of their way of life and feeding habits are incorporated into the development of JBL food varieties. This information, gathered directly from nature, is extremely valuable, as it is otherwise rarely available.
The goal should always be to care for the animals in a species-appropriate manner and, ideally, to breed them to reduce the need for wild-caught specimens. While captive breeding is not absolutely necessary for some species—since commercially available specimens come from captive breeding or are not at risk of depletion in the wild—JBL nevertheless considers it desirable to breed pets in captivity.
