Introduced in 2022, the G2+ series—as the “next generation”—is even better equipped than its predecessors, the Red Sea Reefer Nano, 3XL, or Peninsula. With an extended warranty, improved water management, and a wide range of sizes, the new generation enhances any space.

The new generation of REEFER saltwater aquariums offers a little something extra in every way: from the improved water management system to the seamless, extra-reinforced base cabinets, the crystal-clear aquarium walls, and the integrated ReefMat and Refugium-Ready technical tank—all the way to the extended warranty plan, which now promises a full five years of peace of mind.

The Reefer G2+ series is available in a total of eleven different sizes. This means that every aquarist can find the perfect space for their passion for reef aquariums.

The new Reefer G2+ systems have been specially developed for integration with the Red Sea range of equipment. By combining LED lighting, filters, wave pumps, and dosing systems, you can create a functioning ecosystem whose status can be conveniently monitored via smartphone. The “Red Sea Experience” is both incredibly simple and comprehensive, ensuring that even experienced reef aquarists get the most out of it.

Extra-reinforced cabinet

The base cabinets in the G2+ series are manufactured to strict marine specifications and are extremely sturdy. In the larger models, this is ensured by integrated aluminum supports. The laminated cabinet walls are made of robust and sustainable plywood. The edge-less design, which follows the contour of the glass, enhances the stylish look, along with the epoxy-coated doors. Adjustable feet and stainless steel hinges ensure durability that easily extends beyond the extended warranty period.

Ultra-Clear Glass

The frameless, ultra-clear glass of the Reefer G2+ series is a Red Sea trademark. All aquariums feature beveled edges and are manufactured with a thickness of up to 19 mm (equivalent to 0.75 inches), depending on size. This not only ensures a clear view but also provides high safety and long-lasting durability.

Surface Skimmer

The integrated large surface skimmer, along with the dual return lines, is concealed within a large, centrally mounted overflow box. To make cleaning as easy and convenient as possible, the surface skimmer is equipped with removable comb sections. The enhanced surface skimming further optimizes water circulation in the tub.

Super-Quiet Drain System

The inlet of the downpipe has been enlarged in the G2+ series and is now rectangular in shape. This reduces sensitivity to changes in water flow and simultaneously results in significantly lower noise levels during operation. The improved high-precision valve on the downpipe, which allows for stepless flow regulation, also contributes to noise reduction.

Dual Pump Return Lines

All models with a volume greater than 340 l (starting with the Reefer 350 G2+) are equipped with two side return pump outlets. The dual pump returns ensure that the water is distributed more evenly.

Ready-to-Install Pipe System

For aquarists who want to customize their sump, the Red Sea Reefer G2+ series offers separate bulkhead fittings. These are suitable for both metric and US standard tubing. DIY upgrades are no longer a problem.

Includes Reef Spec sump

All Reefer G2+ models feature an integrated, highly professional sump. In addition to the mechanical filter compartment with microfilters and filter cups or media cups—which can be easily removed for handling and cleaning—there is (optionally) a refugium compartment as well as a height-adjustable skimmer chamber. A bubble trap prevents air bubbles from returning to the aquarium.

The plug-and-play installation of a ReefMat 500 or 1,200 together with a refugium can be completed in just a few simple steps.
Most Reefer models also offer an additional chamber with space for a cooler, a controller, and other equipment.
