Easy installation: Cut the hose from the external filter that returns water to the aquarium, insert the flow-through heater into the cut section, plug it in, and set the desired water temperature
Installation in the filter circuit ensures a very even distribution of water temperature throughout the aquarium, with a measurement accuracy of +/- 0.5 °C and a switching interval of 1.0 °C
LED display showing the current and desired temperatures. Interchangeable hose connectors for 12/16, 16/22, and 19/25 mm with hose clamps. Total length: 30.5 cm

1 300 W flow-through heater for aquariums from 90–300 l (80–120 cm) with hose connections for 12/16, 16/22, and 19/25 mm and a cleaning brush
General product information for the JBL Pro Temp e300
Most aquarium fish originate from tropical waters and require water temperatures between 22 and 30 °C. In community aquariums with fish and invertebrates from different regions, a water temperature of 24–26 °C has proven effective. A temperature of 30 °C is only recommended for breeding certain species, such as discus cichlids. Many shrimp species come from cooler waters and cannot tolerate temperatures of 25–30 °C.
The water temperature should be maintained using a “programmable heater” that automatically regulates the temperature. For this purpose, there are rod-shaped programmable heaters that are mounted inside the aquarium (JBL ProTemp s) in various wattages, as well as external heaters/flow-through heaters that are integrated into the return hose of an external filter (JBL ProTemp e) in two wattages. The advantage of external heaters is that they eliminate the need to place another device INSIDE the aquarium, and they distribute heat more evenly throughout the tank. In addition, the external heater’s digital display always shows the current water temperature clearly and legibly.
A substrate heater is NOT intended to regulate the water temperature. A substrate heating cable ensures better water flow through the aquarium substrate, as the heated water rises along the heating cable and flows into the areas between the heating cables. This flushes nutrients to the plant roots, ensuring perfect plant growth. Substrate heating cables must always be supplemented by a “main heater” (JBL ProTemp s or e).
