The JBL ProFlora CO2 Taifun Spiral 5 is a CO2 reactor that dissolves CO2 bubbles into the aquarium water. Thanks to its specially designed structure, the CO2 bubbles rise in a spiral pattern. This ensures a long contact time with the aquarium water, allowing for efficient dissolution. The plants can then utilize the CO2 dissolved in the aquarium water to promote rapid growth. The reactor is suitable for aquariums ranging from 40 to 200 liters and is 12 cm tall.

Why CO2

Nutrients for Aquarium Plants
Plants supply the aquarium with vital oxygen for its inhabitants, prevent algae growth, remove pollutants, provide hiding places, and reduce pathogens. The JBL plant fertilization system supplies the plants with CO₂, the primary nutrient, via the water. The plants absorb this CO₂ and, through photosynthesis with the help of light, convert it into sugar and oxygen.

It makes no difference to the plants where the CO₂ comes from—whether from biological or pressurized bottle systems. They grow significantly faster as soon as a CO₂ system is installed. The choice of system is more relevant to the aquarist: whether they prefer disposable bottles, refillable pressurized bottles, or a non-pressurized biological system.
