The Straton X marks the launch of a completely new generation of the successful ATI Straton series. Its record-breaking ultra-slim profile of just 9 mm blends elegantly into any aquarium design while setting new technical standards. Ultra-Slim / Ultra-Flat: With a mounting height of just 9 mm, the Straton X is arguably the flattest high-performance LED aquarium light on the market. Even slimmer and lighter than its predecessors, it blends discreetly into any aquarium setup.

Full Aluminum Design: The Straton X features a precision-machined aluminum housing. This not only ensures an elegant appearance but also provides high stability and durability. At the same time, the aluminum enables efficient heat dissipation—a crucial advantage for the lifespan and performance of modern LEDs. The Straton X is a true premium product made from high-quality materials that sets new standards in craftsmanship and design.

Noise-Free / Silent: Conventional LED lights require fans for cooling—they generate noise, increase the overall height, and wear out. The Straton X consistently does without them: Modern high-power LEDs and an efficient aluminum heat sink make fans and their maintenance unnecessary—for absolutely silent operation.

Anti-Glare / Glare-Free: Many LED aquarium lights cause glare due to uncontrolled light scattering—the Straton X takes a different approach. Each of the 100 LEDs uses specially developed high-performance reflectors that are flush-mounted within the light. They direct the light precisely into the aquarium and only where it’s needed—for maximum efficiency and a pleasant, glare-free aquarium experience.

Instead of promises, the Straton X relies on facts: ATI has introduced meaningful and practical metrics that demonstrate the Straton X’s performance in black and white—ideal for planning the optimal light level for aquariums and coral farms or for comparing it with other LED systems on the market. Thanks to integrated PAR and current measurement, performance values can be transparently tracked at any time via the app.

Key metrics at a glance:

• Absolute Performance—With 800 PAR at a distance of 20 cm, the Straton X delivers light output on par with direct tropical sunlight. This is made possible by the use of the latest cutting-edge G3 technology, which achieves significantly higher output than the previous generation.

• Average Area Performance: At a practical distance of 60 cm, the Straton X achieves an impressive average of 390 PAR over a 60×60 cm area—all while consuming just 150 W of power.

• Relative performance: Based on the area performance, this results in an outstanding relative performance of 2.6 PAR/watt. This makes the Straton X one of the most efficient LED reef lights in its class.

Illumination Area and PAR Distribution:

The Straton X was designed to provide particularly broad and uniform coral illumination and PAR distribution. To illustrate this performance transparently and in a practical context, we have defined two key metrics—each measured at a distance of 60 cm from the light, so that the middle section of the aquarium (approx. 30–40 cm below the water surface) is also covered

• SPS 200 Coverage:

  A PAR value of at least 200 µmol/m²/s is considered necessary for keeping demanding SPS corals—the Straton X achieves this value up to a diameter of 85 cm, which corresponds to an area of 0.567 m².

• LPS 100 Area:

  For LPS corals or mixed tanks, a PAR value of 100 µmol/m²/s or higher is sufficient. The Straton X delivers this value over an area with a diameter of 100 cm, corresponding to 0.785 m².

These values impressively demonstrate how efficiently the Straton X provides wide-area lighting for various aquarium types with a maximum power of just 150 W.

• PAR-to-Price Ratio: A simple wattage comparison based on the purchase price is not very meaningful. What matters is how much usable light is produced per euro invested. Our tests show that the Straton X offers an outstanding PAR-to-price ratio and ranks among the very best.
