RED SEA SALT
Natural seawater parameters with slightly elevated KH. Ideal for SPS, ULNS, and fish aquariums. Red Sea Salt is designed to create the exact parameters of tropical reef water with slightly elevated carbonate hardness, as required in closed marine aquariums. Red Sea Salt is ideal for fish and soft coral aquariums, as well as for reef aquariums with low nutrient input (low-nutrient), where the aquarist regularly supplements the individual elements.
Naturally and environmentally friendly extraction from the pristine waters of the Red Sea
Biologically balanced levels of building blocks
Contains all necessary trace elements
Guaranteed parameters for 10 liters
No nitrates or phosphates (algal nutrients)
Contains no toxic levels of heavy metals
No chemical binders
Low moisture content
Red Sea Salt New Formula
Red Sea Salt is designed to create the exact parameters of tropical reef water with a slightly elevated carbonate hardness, as required in closed marine aquariums. Red Sea Salt is ideal for fish and soft coral aquariums, as well as low-nutrient reef aquariums where the aquarist regularly supplements the individual elements.
Natural seawater contains over 70 chemical elements, and although most elements influence water parameters, some of them play a more significant role in terms of the water’s overall chemical stability.
These elements form the foundation of the reef habitat, and they include the three main elements: calcium, magnesium, and bicarbonates.
These three “building blocks” (essential coral-forming elements) have a major influence on water chemistry (pH stability, carbonate hardness, and seawater ionic strength) as well as on many biological processes in corals (skeleton formation, ion exchange, photosynthesis)
Unlike the natural reef environment, where immense quantities of coral-forming building blocks are stored, the reef aquarium has only limited resources, which are quickly depleted by its inhabitants. If sustainable coral growth is to be achieved in the aquarium, the concentration of building materials must be maintained at a level higher than the natural level.
Research conducted at the Red Sea Laboratory has shown that the building blocks calcium, magnesium, and carbonates (carbonate hardness) must be present in a specific ratio to one another within the closed system of an aquarium to ensure the corals remain healthy, and a strong balance among these essential elements must be maintained—especially when their concentrations are increased beyond natural levels.
This ideal ratio is taken into account in the production of Red Sea salts, eliminating the need to adjust the levels of individual building blocks after water changes and resulting in significantly better coral health.
