Red Sea DipX - Removes "stowaways" from corals and live rock

Red Sea DipX is a dip treatment that combats unwanted "stowaways" such as Acropora-eating flatworms, Montipora-eating nudibranchs, Acropora red bugs, and other coral pests. These unwanted “stowaways” often enter your aquarium with a new coral or live rock. They hide in the deepest crevices of corals; they are tiny and often invisible to the naked eye. DipX effectively eliminates these “stowaways.”

DipX - Safe Introduction of New Corals

DipX is a highly effective dip solution for safely introducing new corals and live rock into your aquarium.

A simple 15-minute dip in DipX before placing a new coral in the aquarium removes unwanted “stowaways,” helping to keep your reef safe.

New corals often arrive with unwanted “stowaways” hidden deep within the crevices of the corals. These diverse tiny creatures are often invisible to the naked eye, and once they’re in the aquarium, they can migrate to other corals and damage your delicate reef ecosystem.

Over the years, reef hobbyists have used common bath solutions such as freshwater, iodine, and even household disinfectants, which often repel some of the stowaways but not all.

In recent years, we have cultured tanks with infested corals and compared a wide range of commercially available dips and other repellent ingredients to evaluate both their effectiveness and their overall safety for the corals.

The result is DipX—a unique blend of essential oils, free of inorganic disinfectants. Our tests have shown that DipX is completely safe for all types of corals and more effective than any other solution we’ve tested.

Corals that were bathed in DipX still shed unwanted “stowaways,” even though they had previously been immersed in other solutions. On the other hand, corals that were immersed in other solutions after being bathed in DipX did not shed anything.
