Almost all surgeonfish develop into algae eaters after their larval stage. Therefore, they require a predominantly plant-based diet even in aquarium settings.
In community aquariums, surgeonfish often consume too much animal protein, which can lead to obesity and a weakened immune system.
A low-stress environment, good water quality, and a species-appropriate, plant-based diet are the most important conditions for surgeonfish to thrive in an aquarium.
In addition to a 6% spirulina content, Naturefood SUPREME DOKTOR also contains aloe vera as a natural softener and source of vital nutrients.
