Rearing food for the fry of herbivorous ornamental fish. Naturefood Premium Plant Starter is a finely ground food based on plant-derived ingredients that also contains a portion of specialized food with a higher fat and protein content. This provides the young fish with a plant-based staple diet while also promoting growth, as the nutrients in the food are absorbed much more efficiently, resulting in a higher protein content being available during this phase. This also reduces waste output and thus water pollution, which plays a particularly important role in breeding tanks.

Naturefood Plant Starter remains on the water’s surface longer, where it can be consumed by the young fish. However, to ensure it reaches all the young fish in the aquarium, please add it directly into the current or the filter outlet. This allows the food to gradually spread throughout the entire aquarium. After feeding, the fry’s bellies should still be fairly flat, not round and full. Since in nature, feeding takes up almost the entire day, feeding small amounts multiple times throughout the day is the optimal solution.

Once the fry have grown to about 1 cm, you can switch to Premium Plant S or Premium Cichlid Plant S, depending on the species of fry you are raising!

For these ornamental fish, “plant-eating” generally means grazing on algae for food. However, in the algae or algae growth on rocks, roots, and plants in the natural habitats of these ornamental fish, there are also microorganisms that are consumed along with the algae. Therefore, it is important to include a portion of protein-rich animal-based food in their diet, even in the aquarium.
