Armored catfish are generally regarded as the “scavengers” of the aquarium. But anyone who keeps them will discover that they are much more than that and bring great joy through their behavior and agility. To ensure proper nutrition, armored catfish, callus catfish, and related species require a balanced and nutrient-rich diet, as they primarily consume animal-based food in their natural habitats. Premium for Armored Catfish offers a high protein and fat content, but also contains sufficient high-quality plant-based ingredients, mollusks and crustaceans, as well as Hermit crab meal, to reflect the insect content in their natural diet. Loaches also accept this food very well. To further supplement their diet, we recommend Naturefood Supreme Artemia, as it contains a higher proportion of crustaceans and mollusks.

Please feed the other aquarium inhabitants first before feeding the armored catfish to ensure they receive enough food.

Since the fish can better utilize this food, please feed only small amounts to avoid overfeeding.
