Specially formulated to meet the nutritional needs of turtles
. Most aquatic and marsh turtles are omnivores. However, turtles have a particular preference for fish, other aquatic animals such as crustaceans, mollusks, insects, and often aquatic plants as well. JBL offers a comprehensive range of species-appropriate turtle food, tailored to the specific needs of turtles of different sizes. Dried fish, crustaceans, mollusks, and insects are the primary components and correspond to a species-appropriate, natural diet.

JBL food: Impressive acceptance by turtles: practical research based on feeding in the wild. No loss of vitamins thanks to airtight packaging. JBL food cans and buckets are 100% recyclable, as the can, sealing film, label, and lid are made from a single PP monomaterial. Unlike with other food cans, where it is usually necessary, you do not have to remove the label from the can. The thickness of the plastic has also been reduced, as very high-quality PP (polypropylene) is used. The use of polypropylene ensures complete recyclability at the end of the product’s life cycle. The recycled material is used to manufacture new products, thereby minimizing the release of harmful substances into the environment.

JBL expeditions often visit turtle habitats, whether in deserts or, even more frequently, in tropical wetlands. Observations of their behavior and feeding habits are incorporated into the development of JBL food products. This information, gathered directly from nature, is extremely valuable, as it is otherwise rarely available.
The goal should always be to care for the animals in a species-appropriate manner and, ideally, to breed them to reduce the need for wild-caught specimens. While captive breeding is not strictly necessary for some species—since commercially available specimens come from captive breeding or are not at risk of depletion—JBL nevertheless considers it desirable to breed pet animals in captivity.
