Cichlids are an incredibly diverse group of fish comprising 1,700 species. They range in size from just a few centimeters (checkerboard cichlid) to Crenicichla species measuring up to 80 cm. All cichlids care for their young. Their diets range from microorganisms to plants to other fish. Therefore, it is important to be well-informed about the species kept in your aquarium!
JBL PRONOVO CICHLID S was specially developed for smaller species up to about 10/12 cm in length. The most common genera kept in aquariums include Microgeophagus, Apistogramma, Pelvicachromis, Pelmatochromis, Nannacara, Nanochromis, Crenicara, Laetacara, Dicrossus, and Ivanacara. Although bottom-feeders of the genera Geophagus and Satanoperca grow larger, they also prefer smaller food items, which they forage for in the sand (hence the name “bottom-feeders”).

JBL PRONOVO CICHLID M is suitable for all medium-sized cichlids ranging from 8 to 20 cm. These include many species of the genera Cichlasoma, Acarichthys, Aequidens, Thorichthys, Amalatitlania, Crytoheros, Heros, Andinocara, Pterophyllum, Uaru, and many more.

JBL PRONOVO CICHLID XL is ideal for the larger fish between 15 and 25 cm. This includes many species of the genera Crenicichla, Cichla, Amphilophus, Astronotus, Mayaheros, Cichlasoma, Rocio, and several others.
