The JBL ProFlora CO2 Taifun Safestop check valve is easily installed in the 4/6 hose between the CO2 cylinder and the aquarium, preventing water from flowing back from the aquarium into the CO2 system.

Why CO2

Nutrients for aquarium plants
: Plants supply the aquarium with vital oxygen for its inhabitants, prevent algae growth, remove pollutants, provide hiding places, and reduce pathogens. The JBL plant fertilization system supplies the plants with CO2—the primary nutrient—via the water. The plants absorb this CO2 and, through photosynthesis with the help of light, convert it into sugar and oxygen.

It makes no difference to the plants where the CO₂ comes from—whether from biological or pressurized bottle systems. They grow significantly faster as soon as a CO₂ system is installed. The choice of system is more a matter for the aquarist: whether they prefer disposable bottles, refillable pressurized bottles, or a non-pressurized biological system.
