Product Description
JBL ProFlora CO2 Regulator Basic - Pressure Reducer
A CO2 pressure cylinder is pressurized to 60 bar. The pressure must be reduced to a working pressure of 1.2 bar in order to dose CO2 into the aquarium. This is where JBL’s high-quality, CNC-machined pressure reducer comes into play. Compatible with reusable (M-systems) and disposable (U-systems) cylinders. Screw the pressure reducer onto the cylinder, connect the CO2 silicone tubing, and then use the dial to set the desired CO2 flow rate to be dispensed into the aquarium.
Easy to use
Reduces the cylinder pressure to operating pressure
Pressure regulator fits both disposable CO2 cylinders (U-system) and reusable cylinders (M-system)
High-quality construction: Anodized aluminum, precision CNC-milled in titanium color. Reliable sealing washer instead of an O-ring
JBL ProFlora CO2 Regulator Basic - Pressure Reducer
The pressure reducer reduces the cylinder pressure from approx. 60 bar to a low working pressure of 2 bar, allowing for precise control of the CO2 supply Screw the pressure reducer onto the CO2 gas cylinder and adjust the CO2 flow rate using the fine-tuning needle valve
The pressure reducer is compatible with disposable CO2 cylinders (U-system) and reusable cylinders (M-system). By unscrewing the knurled nut (W21.8x1/14) with an Allen wrench, the pressure regulator fits onto the M10x1 thread of the disposable cylinders
High-quality construction: Anodized aluminum, precision CNC-machined in titanium color. Features a reliable sealing washer instead of an O-ring
Included: 1 CO2 pressure regulator for reusable cylinders, with a removable adapter—making it suitable for disposable CO2 cylinders

The Basic pressure regulator is suitable for JBL disposable CO2 cylinders.

The Basic pressure regulator is suitable for JBL reusable CO2 cylinders.
How the pressure regulator works
Easy installation
: Screw the fitting onto the reusable CO2 cylinder or disposable CO2 cylinder. Connect the pressure regulator via a hose to a bubble counter/check valve and then to the diffuser/reactor in the aquarium. Adjust the CO₂ bubble count using the fine-tuning valve. The CO₂ permanent test indicates whether the amount of CO₂ being added is correct.
Safe Operation
The pressure regulator features a safety relief valve, which safely vents excess pressure if the operating pressure is accidentally set too high without damaging the fitting. The diaphragm control of the pressure regulator guarantees absolute reliability.
Tip
It can be easily converted to a disposable cylinder system by unscrewing the knurled cap nut with an Allen wrench.
Function of the pressure reducer (pressure regulator)
To reduce the pressure from the compressed gas cylinder, a pressure reducer is screwed onto it. It reduces the 50–60 bar cylinder pressure to a lower working pressure. This pressure is then precisely regulated using a small handwheel (fine-adjustment needle valve) so that individual CO2 bubbles are visible and countable in the connected bubble counter. On some pressure regulators, the cylinder pressure and working pressure are displayed on pressure gauges. Strictly speaking, these displays are not strictly necessary, since the cylinder pressure does not drop slowly—as it does with compressed-air diving cylinders—which would serve as a warning when the cylinder is running low. Instead, the pressure remains at its maximum level and then drops to zero in a very short time. Unfortunately, there is no gradual decrease in the cylinder pressure. The working pressure would only be important if it needed to be adjusted, but this is not normally necessary. Still, many people feel more at ease when the two pressure gauges provide pressure readings.
