Simple and safe monitoring of water parameters in aquariums and ponds
Determination of the optimal copper level for heavy metal monitoring in freshwater and saltwater
Laboratory comparator system to compensate for natural water coloration: Fill a glass cuvette with the water sample, add reagents to a cuvette, place the cuvettes in the holder, and read the values on the color chart
Application: When setting up a new tank; in cases of invertebrate or fish mortality; and when dosing medications containing copper
Online Lab: Free analysis and recommendations based on your measured water values

A healthy aquarium or pond with conditions
close to nature The correct water parameters in an aquarium or pond depend on the fish population and the plants present. Even if the water looks clear, it may still be contaminated. If the parameters are poor, diseases or algae can develop in the aquarium or pond. To maintain a healthy aquarium or pond with conditions close to nature, it is important to regularly monitor and adjust the water parameters. For every water analysis, JBL offers water tests in the form of rapid tests or color-change tests. These determine a specific parameter or multiple parameters simultaneously. With these water tests, algae problems can be detected, and adverse nitrate, nitrite, potassium, and magnesium levels, among others, can be identified. Why test? Copper is a heavy metal that, on the one hand, is an essential trace element for plant and animal organisms, but on the other hand, has a devastating effect as a cytotoxin in excessive concentrations. Copper usually enters aquariums through heavy metals in tap water or metal objects in the water, and enters ponds through copper-containing gutters. Copper can be removed using effective water treatment systems. Copper can be used specifically to combat fish diseases. JBL Online Lab: Regular monitoring for a healthy aquarium or pond with conditions close to nature. Enter your water parameters in the JBL Online Lab and receive a comprehensive analysis of your results in a matter of seconds. Recommended copper level: Copper should generally NOT be detectable in aquariums and ponds. For invertebrates in freshwater and saltwater, even the slightest detectable level of copper is already lethal! Only for medications containing copper is the therapeutic dose 0.3 mg/l, which should be adjusted and verified using the Cu Test.
