Healthy fish – healthy aquarium. It’s not just people who feel unwell—fish do too. Transport is a common cause of stress in fish. Poor water parameters in the aquarium can lead to bacteria, fungi, and parasites. 

Vitamin deficiency can be a major problem in fish nutrition. Flake and pellet foods lose a large portion of their vitamins three months after the package is opened. Frozen food also contains very few vitamins. Therefore, fish should be given vitamins regularly to boost their resistance to disease. 

Tip

If you plan to add vitamins to the water rather than through the food, it’s best to do so after turning off the lights, as many vitamins are destroyed by light.
