Proper and Long-Term Algae Control
Excessive algae growth always occurs when there is an excess of nutrients (phosphates and nitrates) in the water. Therefore, long-term algae control always involves two steps: controlling algae with the JBL Algol algae control agent and, in step 2, safely binding the nutrients. JBL PhosEx ultra or JBL PhosEx direct are very well suited for this purpose. The use of algae-eating animals such as sucker catfish, shrimp, and snails can also be a very good supplement.
