Iodine, an essential trace element, for daily dosing. Necessary for the development and coloration of corals. Indispensable for the molting of crustaceans. Important for many species of algae. Promotes light adaptation and coloration in soft corals, especially stony corals.

Dosage:
For normal stocking levels, add 2 drops per 100 l of aquarium water daily. The dosage can be increased if there is a higher iodine requirement due to high stocking density (and thus more consumers) or above-average losses, as listed in the introduction. If corals react with excessive coloration, the dosage should be reduced.

The trace element iodine must be regularly replenished in the aquarium.
It tends to precipitate very quickly, a process that is further accelerated by the addition of ozone, filtration through carbon, or the use of a protein skimmer. Additionally, iodine is broken down by exposure to light. An iodine deficiency inhibits the growth of invertebrates and corals and leads to color fading. Iodine 24 nano promotes coral coloration and development, optimizes light adaptation to various lighting conditions, and helps neutralize the excess oxygen produced by zooxanthellae. Echinoderms need iodine to build their shells, while crustaceans and shrimp need it to harden their chitinous exoskeletons after molting. For the long-term care of Xeniya colonies and many algae species—such as various Caulerpa, Halimeda, and many brown algae—regular addition of Iodine 24 nano is essential. In fish, iodine—as a component of thyroid hormone—prevents goiter formation.
