Copper is an essential trace element that, in low concentrations, has positive effects on the calcification, health, and coloration of the coral skeleton and is required for several biological processes in corals and other organisms.

It is important to monitor copper levels via ICP analysis and ensure appropriate levels and stability by dosing a copper supplement as needed.

Of course, copper levels in seawater vary, but its concentration does not exceed 3 µg/l.

When used in conjunction with a regular testing routine, copper allows every reef tank owner to make adjustments to copper levels to ensure that the levels in their tank water remain within the optimal range for their reef inhabitants.
