Produktbeschreibung
NITE-OUT II Starter Bacteria
Nite-Out II is a specially formulated bacterial blend that accelerates and optimizes the setup and maintenance of marine and freshwater aquariums.
Nite-Out II safely removes ammonium, ammonia, and nitrite through a biological process (nitrification). This highly concentrated bacterial blend is ideal for setting up new aquariums and during water changes to prevent a spike in toxic ammonium, ammonia, and nitrite levels.
Quickly and smoothly cycle your aquarium
Bacterial cultures break down ammonium, ammonia, and nitrite
Significant reduction in the nitrite spike
Live cold-water bacteria—ready for immediate use
Prevents fish mortality and the loss of soft corals, stony corals, sponges, and clams
Bacterial cultures for natural, biochemical metabolism: Nitrosomonas, Nitrospira, and Nitrobacter
No synthetic additives for water treatment
Dosage:
Setting up or cycling
an aquarium: Add 10 ml per 100 liters of aquarium water daily until neither ammonium, ammonia, nor nitrite are detectable.
Aquarium water changes or adding new fish to the aquarium
: A one-time dose of 10 ml per 100 liters of aquarium water with every water change or when adding new fish.
How Nite-Out II Works
The microbiological action of the starter bacteria is explained by the nitrogen cycle in aquarium water: Whether in a nano-aquarium or in the ocean, nitrification—that is, the two-step metabolic conversion of ammonium to nitrate—always occurs in the same way. The breakdown of organic waste such as fish food, fish feces, or plant debris produces ammonium (NH4). If this is not completely utilized as a nutrient by the aquatic plants, or if the pH is just below 7 or higher, ammonia (NH3). Nitrosomonas bacteria then convert the ammonium into nitrite (NO2). To prevent toxic nitric acid from endangering life in the aquarium during this process, Nitrobacter bacteria break down the nitrite into the much less harmful nitrate, which is then absorbed by the aquatic plants or reduced to levels below the detection limit through regular water changes. An aquarium is said to be “cycled” when the filter bacteria that break down pollutants in the aquarium water have multiplied to such an extent that they can maintain the ideal water quality for fish and plants. When the aquarium is being cycled, new animals are introduced, or the aquarium is being redesigned, starter bacteria such as Nite-Out II from MICROBE-LIFT® stabilize the nitrogen cycle and significantly reduce the severity of the dreaded nitrite spike.
